Isometric Transition

Do you, mographers, love the isometric design? I think that the flat shading isometric elements are fit for motion graphics. So I made free Isometric Cube Preset for After Effects. If you’re interested in my GIF above, download the preset and play around with it now!

[Quick Installation]

Copy the preset you downloaded and paste it to the “Presets Folder” located in the “Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC\Support Files (Windows)” or “Applications/Adobe After Effects CC (Mac OS)” folder. If you want to know more about presets, check the After Effects Help.

[Quick Set Up]

First of all, you need to create a new shape layer. Then, with the shape layer selected, apply the Isometric Cube Preset. That’s all!

You can change the cube size(X,Y,Z), color, line width in the Effect Controls Panel.

[Another Samples]

Here’s some samples I created with my preset.

Cubic Box {gif}

Please don’t expect much of the preset. It’s my crappy freebie stuff. But don’t hesitate to give me a feedback. I want to know your impression about the preset.

I’d really appreciate it if you could spread my free preset. And I’m very glad if you follow me/my works on Twitter or on some social networks. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and make something nice with my preset!

Back again! I’ve made it audio reactive for my brand’s visualiser 🙂

Really love the simplicity and the complete control

        Have a look!

Thank you for posting your work, Aaron. Making it audio reactive is one of the interesting experiments.

Thanks for sharing this, it’s awesome.

I made a short little animation with it:

Also I was wondering how you got the robot/machine textures on that last gif?

Thank you for playing around with my preset & posting your work, Edmund. Nice loop!
I created “Cubic Box {gif}” with simple fake perspective design. It’s a bit complicated, though.

how do you make the other end of the cube move? i can only move the front of the cube but lets say i want the back of it to like chase it and move as well…? just like in the fist second of the top gif when they start long from the bottom and then the end of it chases it….

Thanks for playing around with it.
Don’t take things so seriously. In the part of my GIF I made 4 long cubes and moved them, then changed the cube size. Yes, simple and quick solution. I’m sorry but my preset is crappy. So don’t expect so much. 😉

Thank you for your words, Bryan. Hope I can release my script version of this isometric cube in 2015. But yes, I’m lazy…

Yo i’m on mac cc 2015 and the shape layer isn’t disappearing when I add the preset. So it blocks some of the shape thats generated.
